Year 11, 12 and 13 Mock Exams

The year 11 mock exam is on the Friday 9th December. The paper willtake the form of an actual section of a GCSE exam paper. So you need to revise everything on Crime and Deviance AND Social Inequality and remember those exam and essay skills. Also there are revision books in the library for you to borrow, we highly recommend that you take full advantage of them. Finally you can also use the weblinks to the right for further information and guidance.

The year 12 AS exam is on Wednesday 7th December and the year 13 A2 exam is on Monday 5th December. The exams will cover everything you have studied since September. So for AS Family, Education and Theory and Method. For A2 Beliefs in Society, Crime and Deviance and Theory and Method. Again use notes and weblinks for revision and guidance.

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail.

You only get out what you put in.

Yr 11 End of unit test - Tuesday 08th period 4

Crime and Deviance end of unit assessment will be in the form of a section of an external exam paper. Please see exam board links for examples of past papers so you can prepare.
Subtopics you should revise are:

Defining crime and deviance,
Formal and informal social control,
Explanations of crime and deviance,
Official crime statistics,
Which groups commmit crime,
Impact of crime and deviance.

Remember that there are lots of different types of question that come up. Make sure you know what the requirements for each question type are. For example 1 mark data response questions, 4/5 mark explanation questions and 12 mark essay questions.

Also remember question timings - roughly 1 minute per mark.
Finally revision books are avaliable in the library - please take full advantage of this resource.
